Suzanne Ulrich, cut, torn, painted and pasted paper
A beautiful exhibition of small collages by Boston artist Suzanne Ulrich just closed at OK Harris. Each piece is composed of minute paper rectangles of varying colors, assembled into simple geometric configurations. Sometimes the shapes are painted and sometimes she relies on the different natural colors of the paper for subtle contrasting whites. These are exquisite works that are personal and humble in their materiality, and inclusive in their scope. Sorry I do not have titles or dimensions, but all dimensions are under 12 inches.
