ELEVATION

ELEVATION

Traversing above the cliffs of Benwee –

Laura and I alone - in vastness

Immense awareness of distances, proximities

Constantly shifting, atmosphere turning, sliding

Spatial signals and orientations.

Vague trail touchstones, punctuate,

Moving outward but within

A spiral reality,

Continuously re-configured present –

Grounded and weightless

Locating, reflecting in space, through time.

The ancient diagonals intersect,

Boundaries of land, air, sea and self dissolve

Like the distance from then to now.

Some Memorable Shows from 2021-2022

The past two plus years have been challenging in so many ways -- no travel, no restaurants, no openings, no hugs -- to mention only a few of the more minor Covid losses....Nevertheless, some important shows happened in New York, and I was able to get to a small fraction of them. GONÇALO IVO: New Paintings

A few magnificent new paintings by Gonçalo Ivo from his Cosmogenies series. After an extended residency at the Joseph & Anni Albers Foundation during the advent of the pandemic, Gonçalo is now working in isolation at his studio compound in Teresopolis, Rio de Janeiro.
